Street Art San Francisco Mission Muralismo

New book out by the folks at Precita Eyes called "Street Art San Francisco Mission Muralismo" it's edited by Anice Jacoby with a nice forward by the man himself Carlos Santana.
My mural is among the many great works of art that don the walls of San Francisco's Mission District and is in this book, i also get a mention on page 35.
I think it's a great book that documents community/public art as well as giving a really informative historical perspective. What makes it stand out from the many other books in this genre is the views from the local artists themselves, i know community mural artists who have been working for years for the love of it only and never get a mention in books or articles. BIG UP to the folks at Precita Eyes and lets all keep painting.

New York Times ad

The Mural i painted in San Francisco's Mission District, Balmy Alley, entitled "New Dawn" is being used by the New York Times in an ad campaign aimed at the "Bay Area". So it's up on billboards in the BART and MUNI on the platforms and in the trains. Thanks to the folks who have sent photos so far!
Oh yeah and it's in the actual news paper also. Keep an eye out people!

Mural at Noah's

Here's the latest mural in Amsterdam, thanks to Noah.

Legoland, Denmark.

Legoland, Denmark.
At the moment i am painting scenery for the original Lego Land theme park in Denmark thanks to my top scenic art man Lionel.
2010 Legoland is opening a new ride called "The Temple" where you ride through this Egyptian style temple shooting stuff with lasers. So we are painting all the scenery Egyptian style murals and props with a Lego twist. A fun job.

Working with Jan De Hartog on a public arts project sponserd by the Amsterdam Funds for the arts. The aim of the project is to both bring art to the public (who wouldn't normaly go to galleries) and to directly involve the public in the conception of the works of art. we conduct informal interviews with local residents and store owners who share with us their stories of life in this particular street in Amsterdam. We then create a series paintings based on the stories of everyday folks. So far we have a couple that met by getting into a fight in the local cafe, the beautiful postwoman from Columbia, a Berber (Morocco) hairdressing salon, the Indonesian clothing Boutique and the rainbow bar. Stay tuned for more...The opening Exhibition will be a community event, held outdoors in April.
