Working with Jan De Hartog on a public arts project sponserd by the Amsterdam Funds for the arts. The aim of the project is to both bring art to the public (who wouldn't normaly go to galleries) and to directly involve the public in the conception of the works of art. we conduct informal interviews with local residents and store owners who share with us their stories of life in this particular street in Amsterdam. We then create a series paintings based on the stories of everyday folks. So far we have a couple that met by getting into a fight in the local cafe, the beautiful postwoman from Columbia, a Berber (Morocco) hairdressing salon, the Indonesian clothing Boutique and the rainbow bar.
